Request a du'a for safe travel at Al-Aqsa, made by name. Who it is for, how timing works before a trip, and what it does not promise.
Travel is when we hand over control: to a pilot, a driver, a border officer, a road we have not seen. Many people feel it most when it is someone else travelling, a parent flying alone or a child going abroad to study. A du'a is the traditional answer to that feeling.
If you would like a du'a for a journey to be made at Al-Aqsa Mosque, by name, this page explains how. If you want the travel du'as to say yourself, the guide Du'a for Protection and Safety has the texts with their sources. This page is the request; the guide is the recitation.
Which journeys
A first flight abroad, or a long road trip.
Umrah or Hajj. Many families ask for a pilgrim they are sending off.
A child leaving for university in another country.
A relocation, where the journey is also the start of a new life.
A regular traveller for work, whose family worries each time.
A return home after a long absence.
For a long stay, such as study abroad, the intention can cover both the journey and the time away.
Steps
1. Choose a package on the prayer page.
2. Pay via Stripe or PayPal.
3. On the names form, add the traveller's name and the intention. Include everyone going if it is a group.
4. The du'a is made by name at Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.
5. The video arrives by email, usually within 48 to 72 hours.
Timing. The video usually takes 48 to 72 hours, so request a few days before departure if you can. If the traveller has already left, ask anyway: the intention can be for the stay and the return.
If a trip is cancelled, contact us before work on the order begins and the case will be reviewed for cancellation or a full refund. See the refund policy.
What to write
Name the traveller, the route if you like, and the hope, in plain words:
For Hamza, flying to Kuala Lumpur on Sunday for his master's. A safe journey, ease at every step, and a safe return.
For my father and mother, performing Umrah in December. Safety on the road, good health, and acceptance of their worship.
For our family driving across the country this weekend. Protection on the road and safe arrival.
For myself. A work trip that worries me. Peace of mind and a safe return.
Avoid writing flight numbers or addresses. A first name and a destination are enough, and they keep personal details out of the request.
What you get, and what is not promised
You receive a video of the du'a made at Al-Aqsa. We cannot promise that nothing will go wrong on a trip, and a du'a is not a substitute for seatbelts, checks and care. The outcome is with Allah alone.
Texts for a journey
The du'a of riding (Quran 43:13-14):
«سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ، وَإِنَّا إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا لَمُنقَلِبُونَ»
The travel du'a of the Prophet ﷺ begins (Sahih Muslim 1342):
«اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْأَلُكَ فِي سَفَرِنَا هَذَا الْبِرَّ وَالتَّقْوَى، وَمِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تَرْضَى»
The full wording and the rest of the supplication are in the safety guide.
The traveller's own du'a. The Prophet ﷺ listed the du'a of the traveller among du'as that are answered (Abu Dawud 1536, Tirmidhi 1905, graded hasan by al-Albani). So the traveller should make their own du'a on the way, as well as having one made for them.
Du'a for someone far away. A Muslim's du'a for his brother in his absence is answered, and an angel says "Amin, and the same for you" (Muslim 2733). Umar was told to ask Uways al-Qarni for forgiveness (Muslim 2542), showing that asking another is established.
For the family at home
The people who stay behind are part of the journey too. For them, the Quran preserves the words of Nuh (peace be upon him) when he boarded the ark: «بِسْمِ اللَّهِ مَجْرَاهَا وَمُرْسَاهَا ۚ إِنَّ رَبِّي لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ» (11:41). It is a verse about a voyage that began with the name of Allah and ended in safety.
A practical habit alongside the request: agree a time for the traveller to message on arrival. Trust in Allah and the text message are not rivals.
Questions

How early should I order?
A few days ahead if possible, because the video usually takes 48 to 72 hours.
Can I include several family members?
