Illness tests a whole household. Treatment looks after the body, and du'a looks after the heart of the patient and of the people waiting beside them for test results, surgery dates or slow recovery. This request does not replace doctors or medicine: the Prophet ﷺ told people to seek treatment (Abu Dawud 3855, graded sahih by al-Albani) and to ask Allah for well-being at the same time.

Who the du'a can be for
The patient may be a parent in hospital, a child with a long illness, a spouse recovering at home, or the person placing the order. Elderly relatives who live far away can receive the video on a phone and hear their own name in the du'a. If the patient cannot watch alone, a relative can play it at the bedside.
How much detail to share
Medical detail is optional. The names form takes a name and an intention, and a diagnosis can be named or left out. Many families write only “healing and ease through treatment”. Whatever is written in the intention may be spoken aloud, so leave out anything the patient would not want to hear in public.

أَذْهِبِ الْبَاسَ رَبَّ النَّاسِ، اشْفِ وَأَنْتَ الشَّافِي، لَا شِفَاءَ إِلَّا شِفَاؤُكَ، شِفَاءً لَا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا
Remove the harm, O Lord of the people. Heal, for You are the Healer. There is no healing except Your healing, a healing that leaves no illness behind.
