The Quran pairs worship of Allah with kindness to parents and teaches children to say “My Lord, have mercy on them as they raised me when I was small” (17:24). For parents who are alive
For a living mother or father the intention might be health, ease in old age, Allah's pleasure with them and a heart at peace. Some order before Ramadan, before Hajj or Umrah, on a birthday, or during a parent's illness. The video arrives by email and can be played on a phone for a parent who is not comfortable reading messages.
For parents who have passed away
The names form includes a “for the deceased” option. The Prophet ﷺ listed a righteous child who prays for them among the deeds that continue after death (Sahih Muslim 1631). The intention can ask for forgiveness, a high rank and light in the grave.
