Request a du'a for a job interview or new work at Al-Aqsa. How to word it, how timing works, and what a du'a does not promise.
A job interview is a short conversation with long consequences. Rent, family, plans for the next five years can all lean on forty minutes in a meeting room. People in that position often feel two things at once: they have done all the preparing they can, and they still want more help than they can supply themselves.
This page is for asking that a du'a be made for you, or for someone you love, at Al-Aqsa Mosque. The request, step by step
1. Choose a package on the prayer page.
2. Pay via Stripe or PayPal.
3. On the names form, add the name and the intention.
4. The du'a is made by name at Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.
5. You receive a video by email, usually within 48 to 72 hours.
Timing. If the interview date is fixed, request a few days ahead. If it has not yet happened, nothing stops you ordering for the whole search: "ease in my job hunt" is a legitimate intention. Intentions that read well
A good interview intention is honest about the aim and open about the result. Try one of these as a model:
For Sara, interviewing at a hospital in Amman on Thursday. A clear mind, good words, and the position that is best for her.
For myself, after eight months without work. Provision, a good employer, and a job I can do with a clear conscience.
For my husband, who has a final-round interview. Calm nerves and a halal opportunity.
The last phrase matters. A good request for work asks that the work be halal and suitable, not only that an offer arrives. The Prophet ﷺ also taught asking Allah to decree what is best, then to make us content with it (Bukhari 6382, the istikhara du'a). If you have two options in play, pray istikhara yourself. Nobody can pray it for you.
What you receive, and what remains with Allah
The video of the du'a is what you get. No outcome is promised: an offer, a salary, a start date. Provision is from Allah.
That is not an excuse to prepare less. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Strive for what benefits you, and seek help from Allah, and do not be helpless" (Muslim 2664). He also said that if you relied on Allah as He deserves, He would provide for you as He provides for the birds, which leave in the morning hungry and return full (Tirmidhi 2344, graded sahih by al-Albani). The hadith mentions the birds leaving. Tawakkul includes going out to the interview.
Texts that fit
Shu'ayb (peace be upon him), as quoted in the Quran: «وَمَا تَوْفِيقِي إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ ۚ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْهِ أُنِيبُ» (11:88).
The du'a of entering and leaving well, Quran 17:80:
«رَّبِّ أَدْخِلْنِي مُدْخَلَ صِدْقٍ وَأَخْرِجْنِي مُخْرَجَ صِدْقٍ وَاجْعَل لِّي مِن لَّدُنكَ سُلْطَانًا نَّصِيرًا»
Many people say this on the way into a new place. The verse is a general du'a, not one the Prophet ﷺ assigned to interviews, so say it as a du'a and not as a prescribed ritual.
Asking someone to pray for you. The Prophet ﷺ taught that a Muslim's du'a for his brother in his absence is answered (Muslim 2733), and told Umar to ask Uways al-Qarni for forgiveness (Muslim 2542).

The waiting after
The hardest part is often the silence after the interview. The Prophet ﷺ said: "How wonderful is the affair of the believer: all of it is good, and this is for no one except the believer. If something good befalls him he is thankful, and that is good for him; if hardship befalls him he is patient, and that is good for him" (Muslim 2999). That is not a reason to stop hoping. It is a way to hold the result, whichever it is, without losing your footing.
